General clean up and finishing projects. Saturday, May 16th, 10 am to noon. This will run from putting dirt in the raised bed that is being repaired to weeding. Lots of projects, so variety of physical levels required. Any questions, contact Bonnie.
This class will focus primarily on watering and irrigation strategies. It will cover how water behaves in soil/plants and how to get the largest return from quick short waterings. We will also introduce the existing drip irrigation system and provide hands-on instruction designing, installing and maintaining the system in several arrangements for individual garden plots.
We will be transplanting plants in the common beds. We will also need to remove the dirt from one of the raised beds so it can be repaired and make it into another ADA bed for one of our gardeners. We will also work on getting the weed that is already blooming, out of unassigned beds. If there is enough time and enough volunteers we will also work on remaking the teepees in the upper common bed/giving garden.
A work party will be held on November 16 at 1pm to drain the water system. If you want to help out and or learn more about UpGarden water system please join us. Contact the irrigation team at UpGarden.firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
