The common bed committee will be preparing soil to put in pots and then transplanting all our geraniums into the pots to take them out of the garden to winter over in a more sheltered place. We will also need a few people to help transport the pots.

Soil Test Results

In July 2013, random samples from six UpGarden plots were obtained and submitted to King County and the University of Massachusetts for testing. The random samples represented gardens in poor, average and strong plant growth stages. The results consistently showed that the UpGarden is in need of Dolomitic Lime, a soil mineral (to balance organic matter), and Nitrogen for basic plant growth. Leadership is currently working with the P-Patch staff on a soil amendment recommendation and potential funding for improving our soil.
